vi. reason for name prefix: light gray tabby fur ; star for leader
vii. short description a tall, lithe light gray tabby tom with blue eyes
viii. appearanceashstar has one of those appearances that makes it easy enough to draw conclusions from first impressions. he is a very lithe feline, though fragility does not come to mind with it. He has muscles that ripple along his chest, legs, and back and shifts his thick, thin, and light gray tabby tom. There are a couple small streaks of brown that outline the angle of his nose and a few pale streaks that show up on the main body portion of his pelt. His tail is long, with a black stripe running down the middle of it. His ears are also a bit larger than most. His entire body is highly angular, but he stands tall (taller than most) and holds his head up high. He walks with confidence and his blue eyes, bold as they are against his light colored fur, is just as strong and steady as his footing. His eyes also have less of the circular shape that most felines possess, but rather they are more almond shape which causes them to be in a state close to squinting most of the time. Of course, because he is built more for speed and agility, the muscles he does have mainly comes from and attributes to that sort of movement. His body build is not meant for direct fighting, and he has learned to overcome this by using his speed instead.
ix. personalityashstar is not the type of leader to coddle. he is not the type of leader that will listen to every little problem that felines have and help them work through their issues. he is not the type of leader that takes a huge personal interest in each individual feline in the clan, but rather will leave that to his deputy. in his mind, being a leader means to look at the clan as a whole group, not as individual. in order to do his job in the best way possible, he believes that he must do what is best for the group, not the individual. get it? he can come off as harsh and critical, but that's just the way he is - it's the way he's been for a very long time. he believes in results and doesn't like failure. he also has a hard time trusting felines that he has not known for a long stretch of time. he doesn't trust the darkness or even his own shadow. for anyone to earn his trust, they must truly earn it and it takes years for him to fully let down his guard. he has a tendency to make more enemies than friends, what with him having a sharp tongue and quickness to jump to anger and all, but when you do become friends with him, he is a good one to have.for despite the negative traits that he holds, there is a soft heart deep inside the hard outer shell. when he cares about someone, he will put himself in the line of danger if it means that he'll be able to keep them safe. sure, he may not let on that this is what he is doing (he will be snippy even when he is trying his best to be a good person, wanting others to see him as worse than he is for his own personal reasons). he will die to protect his clan, despite what some felines might think. but above all else, blood comes first. he will never admit this, but when the situation arises and he must choose between a blood-relative and someone else, no matter how much the other feline might mean, he'll always choose blood. he was raised with strong values and those strong values are still stoic within him and they most likely always will be, whether or not he wishes for it to be different.he also has a rather vain personality. he thinks highly of himself and is not afraid to show it. his respect must be earned, for he will not grant respect to every feline that asks for it.the other thing to note is that although he doesn't show a lot of soft emotions on his face (yes, he very well might be one of those felines that believe to show emotion is to show weakness), but you can usually get a glimpse of it in his eyes. happiness, laughter, all those bright emotions will flicker across his eyes, even as he represses the urge to twitch his mouth upwards.
x. historyit was in the middle of leaf-bare when ashkit was born, the eldest in a litter of three. he had a brother and a sister in that litter as well, but only his sister got the lithe form that is similar to that of ashkit, though his sister was slightly thinner and smaller, the runt of the litter. For this reason she was named smallkit. His brother on the other hand is between ashstar and smallkit in size, but took after their father more in that he is a brown tabby tom with a larger chest and a more firm body. for this he was named cedarkit. his mother grew sick after they were born, the cold effecting her badly, but she recovered, though she was never at complete health again. their father was a distant figure, watching them from the sidelines. the three kits were close from the start. ashkit was always a little less emotional then his siblings, but smallkit was the one that could always get through his more serious personality to get him to smile and laugh. they played together often and were hardly seen apart. their mother raised them with love and nurtured them the best she could until it was time for them to become apprentices.which happened when they turned six moons of age. the three kits were now apprentices and given to warriors to work on their training. ashpaw was given to a respectable senior warrior who had a calm personality and had a reputation for being good fighter, but with an edged personality, smallpaw was given to a warrior that could teach her to use her small size to her advantage, especially against larger opponents, and cedarpaw was given a warrior that could teach him to use his broad shape the best in fighting. they all workedhard, often meeting after their training sessions to work with one another. they taught each other tricks they'd learn from their mentors and did everything they could to round out their skills as best they could. with time, it became clear that cedarpaw was the best fighter, smallpaw the best hunter, and ashpaw the best at strategy and tracking. his mentor started to realize that although he could be angered easily, he did his best to keep it under-wraps and when the situation could be jeopardized by show of emotions, ashpaw kept them in his heart and away from his mind. it became clear with the moons that passed that ashpaw's mind worked separately from his heart in most situations, allowing him to think without biases...but again, it was only in most situations.there was incident when his siblings and he were eleven moons old, when they were finishing up their training. smallpaw and ashpaw were out in the territory with one other apprentice, a female by the name of finchpaw, who was a friend of smallpaw's, while their brother was hunting with his mentor on a patrol. the three of them were out looking at the borders, curiosity getting the better of them. they were thinking about how soon they could walk these borders as warriors when a group of five rogues ambushed them. they fought hard, trying to get away from the group, but it became clear to ashpaw that they wouldn't be getting out of this in good shape, so he made the one decision that he thought he could - he helped get smallkit out of the mess and told her that they had to run. when she mentioned finchpaw, he told her that they didn't stand a chance against these rogues and that they had to go - they wouldn't be able to get finchpaw out of there. and so, with her reluctantly agreeing, they ran back to camp.they told the leader and deputy, as well as their mentors what happened. the warriors sent out a patrol to see if they could find finchpaw, but here was no sign of her. after that, there was a small strain in the relationship between his sister and him. she felt guilty about how they left finchpaw there, especially when the warrior patrol returned with her body. when time came for them to become warriors, smallpaw asked the leader to wait another moon or two for her, saying that she didn't believe that she deserve it. ashpaw probably should have done the same, but he didn't. he didn't feel as his sister did. he did what was necessary to save their lives from the larger group and he wasn't going to feel guilty about it. do, he and his brother became warriors, him with the name of ashfur and his brother with cedarclaw. a moon later smallpw joined them with the name smallheart.Moons passed and ashfur and smallheart started to become closer again. she started getting over her guilt about finchpaw and was able to go back to what she had been like before the incident almost completely, though now she would never be able to leave anyone behind, no matter what it meant for her own life. time passed and eventually thy were all given apprentices a couple moons apart from one another, but they did a lot of training together when they could. ashfur got a young tom who had a bit too much energy in him for ashfur's liking. ashfur reponded to it with a sharp edged tongue, trying to get the apprentice to calm down. With time, his apprentice was able to do just that and they worked decently well with one another. they were never a perfect pair, never truly friends like ashfur had become with his old mentor, but it was a workable relationship. the apprentice did well and became a warrior.more moons passed with it, ashfur started to take a more direct role in the clan. he started talking to the deputy about issues going on in the clan, and even tried helping out the leader when possible. he started leading patrols when he could and took on another apprentice, just because he liked to stay busy and he enjoyed helping out. the leader and the deputy grew to really like him, so much so that when the deputy decided it was time for him to retire, thinking that he was no longer in the age spectrum (he was heavily closing in on elder age anyway) needed in case the leader did end up loosing his last couple lives, the leader decided that ashfur would become the next deputy, at which time he was forty moons old.within the next nine moons, he trained another apprentice and did all those duties required of him. Listening to those that needed help, making patrols, advising the leader, etc. There were a couple battles that went on with the other Clans, one o which resulted in the leader loosing his second to last life. The last life he had he lost just a moon ago from a sickness that he couldn't seem to get over. After which, ashfur became ashstar.

xii. rp sampleashstar sat in his den, his eyes on his paws and his mind in thought. there were thoughts circulating through at a pace that would make quite a few felines a little crazy. his mind was rapidly firing up different situations, things that he could do, but as he rejected some in favor for others, the thoughts would also mix and merge, coming up with combinations of multiple different ideas in order to try and find a solution that would be more solid than the last. all the while, his tail was flicking from side to side in such a way that the tom in front of ashstar knew that he was pondering what he had just been told.esperclan was starting to give them trouble along the border, ashstar's deputy had been out on patrol that day and came back with a message, along with a few injured warriors, himself included, to report that esperclan was demanding for the border to be moved in such a way that it would give the other clan another large strip of territory to hunt from. their reasoning was that the river was not enough. his deputy told him right out that he believed that it was nothing but a threat with an empty reasoning. esperclan was one of the best fed clans because of the river, having fish when the other clans don't care for the taste of the slimy creatures. ashstar had to agree with him."we're not doing it," ashstar said, his voice steady and strong, even though his mind was still whirling with thoughts. "we're not giving them anything. that much is obvious." He knew that there were some leaders that would just want to end the conflict somehow, wrap things up and move on, but this was something that he couldn't give. his clan needed all the territory they could get. they had no room to give anything away, but the other clan knew that. "I just wish I knew what they wanted.""They want a battle against us, that much is clear," the deputy replied as he shifted from one foot to another, trying to keep weight off his injured right leg as much as possible.ashstar nodded. after a few moments he shook his head, clearing the thoughts from his mind, but keeping one idea in particular in the forefront. "Blacktail," he mewed, "how about you go ahead and see the medicine cat. I'll need a few more moments to think about it and there is no reason for you keep bleeding. You should have done that right away."The deputy looked at ashstar warily before mewing, "You'll come nd get me before you do anything, right?""of course, just go and get cleaned up."hesitantly the deputy moved the to the entrance of ashstar's den and left. as he did so, ashstar stayed in there for a few moments before getting up on his feet and padded over to the entrance and leaving, and walked out of camp, keeping his movements sure and true. he chose blacktail as his deputy for he believed the tom had potential, but the younger warrior still had some room to grow, especially when it came to matters of talking to other felines in power. and this was something that he wanted to do by himself. flicking his tail, the leader picked up his pace slightly and headed towards the direction of esperclan's territory, his muscles tight and his eyes hard.
