okay guys, below are the rules for the entire site. they're pretty laid back, so it shouldn't be hard to follow them. anyone found to be breaking them will receive two warnings, and will be banned after that. simple enough? if you have any questions, pm staff.
out of character
i. respect. all we ask is that you respect other members. this means do not flame, fight, or do any thing related to these things. staff have the number one say, and if you have any concerns on a staff members decisions, feel free to pm lace to talk it over.
ii. no powerplaying. this means you cannot play other peoples' characters. it's simple. you have your characters, and they have theirs.
iii. no godmoding. your cat is not invincible. even the best fighters get wounds and make mistakes. make your roleplaying exciting and realistic. this also means your character does not always hit the target their aiming for. going along with the above rule, you cannot say if your strike hit the other player or not. that is up for them to decide.
iv. common sense. seriously. treat others as you would like to be treated. obviously, no spamming, flooding, harassing, extremely negative or derogatory comments, etc. this goes for both in and out of character.
in character
i. word count. the minimum word count for this site is 100 words. it is not that hard to obtain. if you need help on expanding your posts, pm a staff member. and please give the other person something to respond to at some point. if not, it leads to awkward and dying threads.
ii. rating. our site rating is L2 S1 V2.
iii. threads. threads will be moved to the inactive boards once they have not been posted in for two weeks, unless one of the roleplayers has a valid absence up. it may also be moved by request, using the thread.
iv. time. there is no thread limit on this site, and there is liquid time. this means your character can be in many threads as you want at a time, but you must stick to chronological order when creating new ones. i.e. if your cat sprains their paw training in one thread, the next two or so must be with them having a sprained paw.
v. spelling & grammar. incorrect spelling and grammar will not be tolerated. this means no chatspeak in character, (though please refrain from flooding the cbox with it) and no amount of extreme errors. we understand not everyone is perfectly fluent in english, even native speakers. mistakes happen as well. but there is a spell checker for a reason, and the rules of basic grammar are not that hard to follow.
accounts
i. characters. this is a one-character per-account site, meaning that each character must have their own account. you may have an ooc account as long as you only post in the ooc boards with that account, and keep it fairly active. please register each account with your ooc name#. an example account would be admin, admin1, admin2, etc. if you have questions with this, please contact staff.
ii. limits. there is no character limit on this site, but you may only create what you can handle. this means at least one post per character per week unless a valid absence, and if staff notice any neglect for a character, you will receive one warning, before you will be asked to delete a character. if you play a high position, we ask for three posts per week.
iii. first characters. these must have their completed applications posted within a week of joining. characters after that may be a work in progress.
iv. individuality. we will not tolerate mary-sues and gary-sues on this site. there are billions of personalities in this world for humans, and the same goes for cats. two cats may also have similar personalities, but no two can be the same. if staff notice a lack of uniqueness and a 'perfect' quality about your biography, they have the right to deny it and suggest fixation until something is corrected.
v. mates. a pair of cats must thread together at least twice before declaring mates. they must have at least one more thread after that before they can apply for kits. if you meet the requirements and would like kits, contact a staff member by pm. please note that a pregnant she-cat must be in two threads before she can give birth.
vi. names. we are lenient with the names here on oblivion, but things like 'broompaw' and 'dragonfighter' will not be accepted. a staff has the right to question a name on a biography. unique names are encouraged however, as long as a reason behind the name is given. if you need naming help, ailuronymy is a wonderful name resource.
happy roleplaying!
